Georgia Tech’s new Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design (KBISD) complies to one of the most stringent and avant-garde building standards – the Living Building Challenge 3.1. This building, going live later in 2019, is net positive for energy and for water. Even without the extensive PV system, the building ranks as one of the most energy efficient buildings in the south-east. High performance building modeling, astute engineering design, elaborate yet simple HVAC system design, and water management features form the landscape of this new Georgia Tech building.
